This agreement is between you and EndlessDevs ("we", "us"), support@endlessdevs.co.uk. By installing or playing Germline ("the Game") you agree to these terms. The Steam Subscriber Agreement also applies. If the two conflict, the Steam Subscriber Agreement wins for anything about Steam itself.
1. Licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and play the Game for your own non-commercial use through Steam. We and our licensors keep all rights in the Game. You may not copy, sell, rent, or redistribute the Game, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.
2. Online services
Some features (ranked play, leaderboards, PvP, co-op, friend challenges, Showcase sharing and the Helix shop) use our servers and need an internet connection and a Steam account. We may change, suspend or end online features, with reasonable notice where we can. Offline play is not affected by this.
3. Helix and virtual items
Helix and other in-game items are a limited licence to use content inside the Game. They are not real money, have no cash value, and cannot be exchanged, sold or transferred outside the Game. Purchases are handled by Steam, and Steam's refund policy applies.
Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
4. Fair play
You must not:
- cheat, use exploits, bots or modified clients to gain an advantage in online modes
- tamper with or attack our servers, or interfere with other players
- harass other players or publish illegal, hateful or infringing content
If you break these rules, we may remove content, reset affected progress or rankings, or suspend or end your access to online features.
5. Content you share
You keep ownership of creatures, showcases and other content you publish through the Game. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute that content inside the Game and in promoting it. You can remove your published content at any time. You confirm you have the right to share it.
6. Privacy
We process some personal data (such as your Steam ID, game progress, crash reports and feedback) to run the Game's online features. See our Privacy Policy.
7. Liability
The Game is provided as it is. We are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in this agreement limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under UK law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
8. Changes and ending
We may update this agreement. If the changes are significant, we will tell you in the Game or on Steam. You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the Game. Sections 3, 5 and 7 continue after it ends.
9. Law
This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or the EU, you keep any mandatory protections of the law where you live.
